Looking at my Firestone receipt and paperwork: There it is. After having to write a new slip that indicated that I had passed inspection, he asked with a sarcastic smile: 'Did you get those new tires installed at the Firestone on Ward Road?' Roughly 90 minutes later, I took the car to an unrelated automotive shop to get it inspected (which is a state requirement to get vehicle license tags renewed). I wish I had also popped the hood and taken a peek before leaving. I wouldn't have even have noticed the item if I hadn't suspiciously checked before I left. There was an item that he/they 'forgot' and I had had to remind them. The tire instillation went along smoothly this time. I recently decided to buy new tires from this Firestone location and have them installed. Hoping that 28+ years was enough time for the carelessness of 1990s era staff to have moved on to other occupations/retirement/or better things. I didn't make a claim out of it, I just decided to avoid Lee's Summit Firestone on Ward Road and steered clear of them for more than two and a half decades. I'm not kidding nor exaggerating - bright sparks - I saw them with my own eyes. Yep, they crossed up the positive to negative terminals in the process, and sparks ensued. No worries, they would just jump start my car.

The dome light drained the battery such that when they tried to start my car. So far - so good, right? Wrong: They left the driver side door open on my car for that hour-plus until the tires arrived and the additional time it took to install the new tires. The tires were delivered and they installed them without difficulty. It took more than an hour for my tires to arrive, so the mechanic(s) worked on other customers' vehicles while I waited. They called another Firestone location and had the correct tires delivered. I had a bad experience with this Firestone location in the early 1990s - yes, you read that correctly - the early 1990s: I was 'told' that they had the tires I wanted in stock, but they didn't 'realize' that the tires actually weren't in stock until AFTER they had placed my vehicle on the lift.
